Hey, so today we’re going to talk about fire ants give a little bit of information on fire ants and how fire ants can just completely ruin your day and what to do to get rid of those fire ants. So Travis, elaborate on some information about fire ants.

Alright, so fire ants is probably one of our least favorite yard insects that we have to deal with just because I mean, they ruin your day, you know, inadvertently step on one outside in the grass while you’re walking around in the yard, they get all over you, or maybe you stood in their ant bed, and you didn’t even know that they were there until all of a sudden you’re feeling uncomfortable because you’re experiencing pain. Their mounds are unsightly, that make your yard look terrible. You know, the list goes on and on why people don’t like fire ants.

Yeah, and it’s not just one mountain. Typically, it’s, you know, 567 they infest the entire yard. And you know, no one likes to get stung by fire ants. So that’s definitely a couple of reasons why they are just no fun to have.

Well, and not only that, but most people don’t know this, by the time you start to see the mound over the top of the blades of the grass in your yard. The mound is already deep underground, it goes really far underneath the underneath the soil more than you could actually even see, you know, above the ground. Yeah,

yeah. Well, you know, we typically like to talk about how the homeowner can get rid of them that get rid of the problem themselves. But unfortunately, fire ants is just not something that, you know, cutting your grass shorter is not going to help run it over with a lot more is not going to help pouring gasoline on it’s not going to help, please don’t. Actually, you know, I’ve heard people telling me that. So a treatment is really the only thing that’s going to help. So I wanted to go into detail on kind of how we do our treatment. So Travis wants to elaborate on that.

Definitely, definitely. I mean, like I said earlier, you know, nobody likes fire ants. I remember when I was a kid, my brother who was just slightly a little older than me, sat down in a fire ant bed and was covered in stings. And to this day, even as an adult if he gets stung by firing it, he has an allergic reaction just because of all of that that when he was younger as a child was stung. So you know not to mention that some people may be hypersensitive to them already and not know it and getting stung by one may cause some sort of allergic reaction or swelling or life threatening situation. So it’s definitely not something that you want living in your yard.

No, definitely not definitely not. And then of course, they can infest your house too. And that can be even a bigger problem. So definitely don’t want that.
