Hey, so today I want to talk about bats, or, as I’ve heard, and like to call them flying rats, bats look just like rats with wings. So why not call them flying rats? Let’s talk about why bats are such a nuisance. Some of the problems they can give you as a homeowner, a lot of times we see bats roosting in the gable vents, there’s a little section where you’ve got about, I’d say, four or five inches where that bat can get right in that Gable vent, and just work its way in there. Well, multiple, multiple that so lots of bats, we’re not just talking about one. So lots of bats can get up in that gable vent and just nestled right in there, start living their best life and then all of a sudden, you start seeing a lot of droppings on your windowsill or you start seeing a lot of droppings on your driveway. You know, kind of anywhere that Gable vent right up under it. So that becomes a big issue, you don’t know what you got going on. So just I’ll just tell you the best way to figure out that you have bats are looking at those droppings with gloved hands, you know being very safe, careful about it. Break up with that dropping and you’ll see actually the shells have bugs so it kind of shines under a light. So that’s 100% a positive way to know that you have bats. So let’s talk about how they can get in your house. So bats if you leave a window open they can potentially fly in the house so door, see them a lot and like hunting cabins where they’re just you know, not not many people living there at one time. So that’s, you know, some easy ways obviously they can get in through your attic, especially if you don’t have that bat screen that up that most homeowners when they built or most builders, when they bought a house, they’ll put that bat screen up, they’ll at least do that for you. So so the best way to get rid of bats is always going to be call a professional. I can’t stress how dangerous bats can be. They can carry rabies, the feces that they that they have is definitely not good to breathe. Not good for your lungs at all. So you always want to call a professional if you think you have bats and call call me anytime I ask.
